ACTIVITIES IN COPENHAGEN
COPENHAGEN HAS A LOT TO OFFER
HERE ARE SOME OF OUR FAVOURITE PLACES AND ACTIVITIES:
1 Take a canal tour. A classic way to see the city. See all the big sights in Copenhagen harbour (including the little mermaid and Nyhavn!)
2 Torvehallerne. A set of covered food halls, 100 meters from Nørreport station. A bit pricey, but with lots of great samples!!
3 A swim in Copenhagen harbour. You can do this at Islands Brygge or right outside our wedding venue!
4 Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. Located north of Copenhagen in Salik’s home town of Humlebæk, Louisiana is a wonderful art gallery with amazing views over the Ørseund to Sweden. (Speaking of Sweden….)
5 Take a train ride to Malmö or Lund. Go over the Bridge from ’The Bridge’. An iconic landmark. Dead bodies not included.
6 Visit Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, northern Sjælland, location for Hamlet, the original Nordic Noir. Note that the trains are replaced by buses to Helsingør and Humlebæk at the moment, so factor in a little extra travel time.
7 Go and see a football match! Salik’s favourite team will be playing on the 5th of August in Brøndby Stadium and we will be down there to cheer them on. If you want to come with us, please message us and we can book as a group. Tickets will cost around 150 kr. STOLTHEDEN ER KOLOSSAL!
8 Reffen is an achingly cool street food market in the former shipbuilding area of Copenhagen. It can be accessed by bus, bike, walking or the extremely fun bus-boat.
9 If you fancy stretching your legs or having a low octane bike ride Kalvebod Fælled is great! Located at the Vestamager end of the Metro line, there’s plenty of things to do there for people of all ages and wonderful views of Copenhagen’s wetlands and more interesting modern architecture.
10 Take a train west to the town of Roskilde and visit Viking Ship Museum. Home to three of the best preserved Viking ships in Denmark and a working Viking ship building yard. Pillaging and plundering not included. While in Roskilde, a visit to the cathedral is a must. It is the resting place for 600 years worth of Danish monarchs.
11 Explore Nørrebro, especially around Nørrebro parken. This is a great and interesting part of Copenhagen, with lots of cafes, bars and street art.
